Users began reporting problems accessing Facebook and Watch Fast & Furious 8 OnlineInstagram on Saturday morning, and after several attempts to access Facebook from various locations by Mashablestaff, the site appears to be inaccessible as of this writing.

"Your account is currently unavailable due to a site issue. We expect this to be resolved shortly. Please try again in a few minutes."

UPDATE: 12:20 p.m. ET: A Facebook spokesperson in contact with Mashablehas confirmed the global outage suffered by Facebook and Instagram users on Saturday morning. "Earlier today, a technical issue caused some people to have trouble accessing Facebook services," Facebook's spokesperson told Mashable. "We quickly investigated and are currently restoring service for everyone. We’re sorry for any inconvenience."
As of this writing, many Facebook and Instagram users on Twitter are reporting the ability to access the site once again, however, DownDetector is still registering some issues for a small number of users attempting to access the sites.
