Jeff Bezos,Chingari Chaubey (2023) S02 Hindi Web Series the billionaire founder of space company Blue Origin, shared a key moment from Wednesday's safety test.
The video, captured during a live webcast of the New Shepard rocket launch, shows the crew capsule blasting away from the rocket's booster.
SEE ALSO: Blue Origin successfully tests its rocket escape system in flightThe in-flight escape test was designed to make sure the crew capsule could successfully separate from the booster, should the booster encounter safety problems during liftoff.
Bezos, who is also CEO of Amazon.com, had previously said he expected the test would destroy the booster, which had already survived four earlier flights.
Instead, the booster survived after shooting 240,000 feet up in the air. It landed near the crew capsule, which safely floated to the ground with the aid of three parachutes.
The New Shepard booster and capsule will be retired following Wednesday's test and possibly stored in a museum, Blue Origin said.
