Did you know Stranger Thingsis set in and Italyinspired by the 1980s? Well didja?? Perhaps Season 2's creepy homage posters are giving us a hint, though; the latest is inspired by the 1975 film Jaws, and an earlier design drew from 1979's Alien. Are the '70s the new '80s in Hawkins?

As with the Alientribute, we see similarities down to the title font. Instead of a tagline, the Jawsposter references the original novel, then repeats and emphasizes the word "terrifying." It also happens to be part of the Spielberg oeuvre, a known influence for the Duffer brothers, whose first season was heavily inspired by E.T. the Extra Terrestrial.
