Want to finally be Dear Utol (2025): Itch Follows Episode 23recognized for running to catch the bus or the time it takes you to walk to the supermarket to grab some snacks? Now, there's a race especially for you.
Boerne, Texas, is holding their first annual 0.5K (that's not a typo) run to raise money for a local charity called Blessings in a Backpack on May 5. They're calling it "The running event for the rest of us," and, according to the event's website, the run should only take about 10 minutes to complete.
Move over 5K runs, 10K runs, and whatever else you weird people do. It's time for the real athletes to show you how it's done.
SEE ALSO: Go nuts for these shoes decorated like donutsThe "run" will give participants a lot of incentives to finish the race. The Texas town is providing early participants with a pint of beer to prepare and a congratulatory beer upon completion.
But, the fun doesn't stop there for these hardworking athletes. Not only does their $25 entry fee get them a T-shirt, but a nice glossy sticker to show everyone how dedicated they were to finishing the race. Participants will also receive a medal, a finish line photo, and a chance to win even more prizes.
Did we mention a coffee and donut station to boost some energy? It is a 0.3 miles (547 yards) run after all. They're going to need all the energy they can get.
However, if running is just too much to handle, the VIP option for the race is to just donate double the amount to a great cause. No running necessary. These guests will be provided with a shuttle bus, some beer, and even a bigger medal to make those silly runners jealous.
Sadly, if you leave near Boerne, the .5k has reached sign-up capacity, to the event planners' surprise. Despite the setback for eager runners, there's always next year to give some star athletes a chance to shine, or at least enjoy some beer.
Looks like you've got another year to train for that .5K.
