The Drivetribevideo features Hammond looking through photos of the crash site, which show the craters his car left after he came off the road and rolled 100 meters down a hillside.
"I was aware that I was up, that I was high, that inevitably the car was going to come down," says Hammond in the video.
"And yeah of course there was a moment of dread -- 'Oh God, I'm going to die.'"
This isn't the first time Hammond has been in an accident while filming, either -- in March he was in a motorbike crash, and in 2006 Hammond was severely injured after trying to break the land speed record in a Vampire jet car.
After each of these accidents he's made a full recovery.
