When Apple first introduced its wireless earbuds983 Archives the AirPods, the internet was swarmed with jokes about losing them.
Yes, they do come with a handy portable charger case, and yes, Tim Cook claims they don't slip out of your ear very easily, but there will still inevitably be a number of people who will one day rummage through their pocket to find they've lost one or both earbuds.

The info comes from an updated Apple support document for the iPhone, first noticed by AppleInsider.
"If your AirPods or charging case get damaged accidentally, you can pay an out-of-warranty fee. And if you lose an AirPod or your charging case, we can replace your lost item for a fee," the document says.
The document also lists the price for battery service on the AirPods: $49 for each earbud or the case if they're still covered by warranty, and $69 if they're out-of-warranty.
The AirPods, which are currently available online and might be coming to Apple retail stores on Dec. 19, retail for $159. We'll leave it to you to decide whether Apple's price of $69 for one lost AirPod is a fair deal or not.
