Xiaomi’s sub-brand FIMI Technology launched the Manta VTOL fixed-wing drone on Hollywood ArchivesMonday, priced at RMB 999 ($139). The lightweight drone features a tilting-rotor vertical takeoff and landing design, combining the benefits of multi-rotor hover capability with the cruising efficiency of fixed-wing aircraft. Its tailless layout design optimizes the fuselage endurance, enabling the 500g drone to achieve a maximum flight time of up to 85 minutes. Additionally, its modular design allows for quick and easy replacement and assembly, making it a user-friendly option for drone enthusiasts. The company added that users can explore various configurations with 3D printing templates and modification parts to create a customized aerial experience. As a member of the Xiaomi ecosystem, FIMI Technology was founded in May 2014. [IThome, in Chinese]
