The Illinois Fighting Illini and Tennessee Vols men’s basketball teams are scheduled to meet in a non-conference contest on Saturday, Dec. 9, 2023, at Food City Center in Knoxville, Tennessee. The game is scheduled to start at noon ET/11 a.m. CT. 

Illinois, ranked No. 20 in The Associated Press poll, enters the matchup 7-1 overall. Most recently, Illinois defeated Florida Atlantic 98-89 on Tuesday. The No. 17-ranked Tennessee Vols come into the contest 5-3 overall. On Tuesday, Tennessee beat George Mason 87-66. 

Terrence Shannon Jr. leads Illinois in scoring at 21.6 points per game after eight contests, and he also leads the Illini with 22 assists and nine steals. Dalton Knecht paces the Tennessee Vols’ scoring after eight games with 19 points per contest.
