According to FiveThirtyEight's Election Day newsletter, as of Tuesday morning the number of people who have voted early in Florida -- a key battleground state -- has already surpassed the number of total Florida voters in the year 2000.

In accordance with The U.S. Elections Project, Joshua Chavers posted the shocking projections on Twitter, which perfectly demonstrated how many people are getting out to vote this election.
To put things into perspective, this election cycle 6,424,595 people have alreadyvoted early in Florida. Back in 2000, a total of only 5,861,223 people voted in Florida.
Let that sink it -- Florida early voting numbers for 2016 have surpassedthe entireFlorida voting turnout of 2000.

As we enter election day with an impressive 46,270,767 early votes cast nationwide, we have a feeling a lot more of Florida's 12,863,733 registered voters will be making their way to the polls today.
