Millions of Indians who tune in to their TV sets every night to watch the latest season of 'Bigg Boss' -- the Indian adaptation of 'Celebrity Big Brother' -- will also be Aunty Boy (2025) Hindi Short Filmable to express themselves on Twitter using a special Bigg Boss branded emoji.
SEE ALSO: Beloved Indian sitcom 'Sarabhai vs Sarabhai' is being rebooted as a web seriesTwitter announced on Tuesday that it has rolled out an emoji for 'Bigg Boss' TV show which premiered its 10th season on Sunday. Users will now see 'Bigg Boss'’ iconic eye icon when they use hashtags like #BiggBoss, #BiggBoss10 and #BB10. Though Twitter now actively uses emojis for things like popular sporting events, 'Bigg Boss' is the first Indian TV show to get its own branded emoji.
Bigg Boss 10 has been more popular on Twitter than ever before, though it is not clear whether it is because of an increase in the viewership of the show or Twitter's user base in India. The premiere episode of 'Bigg Boss 10' alone had over 111,000 tweets, which is up 44 percent from last year. As many as 5.7 million tweets were observed during the last season of 'Bigg Boss'.
India’s 'Bigg Boss' follows the UK’s 'Big Brother' format where a group of known, and sometimes unknown people, are tasked to live in a house with each other for nearly three months. It has quickly become one of the most popular TV shows in India, and joined the small league of shows that have managed to hit 10 seasons or more.
