Breakfast in bed just got a bit easier.
IHOP is Her PS Partnernow offering delivery in a handful of major cities starting this week as part of an expansion of its online ordering platform.
SEE ALSO: Keep your packages from getting stolen with this Kickstarter projectThe pancake house is teaming with Amazon and DoorDash to test the program, which will extend to parts of California, Texas, Oklahoma, Utah, and Washington. The exact cities have yet to be announced.
Orders made through DoorDash's app or online platform will include a standard delivery fee that usually comes out to around $3.
IHOP has also fashioned special delivery packaging to keep food hot and protect it from damage during transit.
The breakfast chain is clearly very proud of this innovation and devotes much of its press release to explaining in great detail how it will work--in case you ever doubted this was a company that's serious about the integrity of its pancakes.
Aside from the state-of-the-art boxes, the delivery pilot is part of a bigger program that now includes online ordering in nearly 2,000 locations and a mobile app promised by the end of the year.
