TikTok has recruited two experienced retail professionals who previously worked at Amazon and TV Series ArchivesMeta to oversee its ambitious venture of establishing a substantial US e-commerce business, according to an August 8 report by The Information. Additionally, Sandie Hawkins, the US e-commerce general manager at TikTok, is reportedly departing from the company, an individual familiar with the matter said. Prior to this restructuring, TikTok’s CEO Shou Zi Chew strived to develop a significant e-commerce presence for TikTok, and introduced a service named Shop, enabling users to make purchases directly within the TikTok app. According to The Information, TikTok has been actively expanding its supply chain and fulfillment operations in collaboration with logistics partners in recent months.
