And now, 31 years later, the magical bear has been resurrected to incorporate the technology of today – and also to become slightly more creepy.

Ruxpin's empire expanded by way of dozens of audio stories, a teddy bear-sized fashion line, a TV cartoon and several reboots of the toy, the last of which was in 2005.
Wicked Cool Toys' 2016 version of Teddy Ruxpin is super modernized, namely thanks to his huge, blue, animated eyes. Seriously, they look like they belong to a crying cartoon child.

Don't take out your credit cards just yet – Teddy Ruxpin 2.0 won't be on shelves until August 2017.
But if you can't wait until then, several Ruxpins are available on eBay, with prices as high as $1,000.
