Filmmaker Max Lanman found that out the hard way, after eBay pulled down an auction he had set up to sell his girlfriend's car.

The beautifully shot video quickly went viral and reached over three million views -- and ended up pushing up the eBay going price to $150,000, up from Lanman's initial asking price of just $499.
According to the filmmaker, who posted an update in a comment on YouTube, eBay's fraud department couldn't believe the huge amount of money that was being offered for the car, and mistakenly cancelled the auction.
"Ebay cancelled the original auction and asked us to start over. We have restarted the auction back at its original starting price of $499," said Lanman.
The current bid for the car stands at $1,675 -- a far cry from $150,000.
Nice going, eBay.
