Some results aren't too surprising: Hogwarts was far and away the most popular location for HP stories not just in 2016, but in years past as well.

The most popular HP character (in English-language stories) in 2016 was Harry Potter (natch), followed by Draco Malfoy and then Hermione Granger. Remus Lupin ranked surprisingly high at No. 4, with Ron Weasley back at No. 5. No one was forgotten: There were 50 stories written about Goyle this year, as well as Crabbe with 43...enough for a Top 30 finish. If they were mentioned in Rowling's work, it's a safe assumption that someone, somewhere is reading a complex tale about them right now.
