"How did I think it was OK to spend five minutes having a peaceful conversation with someone with different views?"
"After this show, I want you to know I will go straight to a rehab facility that will teach me how to make all people happy—both the rich entitled white people who will vote for him and the very poor people who were tricked into it," she continued to enthusiastic laughs from the audience.
"And Tampa, I am so sorry. I shouldn't have said that he was an orange, sexually-assulting, fake-college-starting monster," she said. "I will never again say that he is an orange, sexually-assulting, fake-college-starting monster."
Schumer then thanked audience members of Tampa that stayed and those that booed before leaving, as well as fans at Madison Square Garden.
In a statement to Peoplefollowing her Tampa performance, Schumer expressed the need for comedians during this season.
“We have always depended on comedians to make us laugh and tell the truth," she said. "I am proud to continue that tradition.”
