Maybe you don't care about messing with the in-game economy and you just want to build as many crazy contraptions as possible. Or maybe you just want to keep buying arrows at markup from Beedle. No judgment either way.

Simply do not download patch 1.12. Next time you boot up the game, you'll be prompted to download the update; just don't do it. No one is making you. Sure, this can become problematic later (especially if Nintendo releases DLC that you want to play), but for now, there's no obligation to download anything. Disconnect your Switch from the internet if you have to. The world is your oyster.
