Chairlift announced their plans to break up in spring of 2017 last night.
The Sedan Sex (2018)duo, known for their pristine pop, was playing a hometown show at Good Room in Brooklyn, NY. "In Spring of next year, Chairlift is going to be playing our final shows," Caroline Polachek told the crowd.

According to Polachek, Chairlift will announce the band's final shows in early 2017 soon, so get ready to start crying in public.
Polachek formed Chairlift in 2005 in Boulder, CO with Aaron Pfenning, who later left the band. Moth, the band's third album, was released in January 2016. Polachek, who also releases solo material under the name Ramona Lisa, co-wrote "No Angel" for Beyoncé. Wimberly has collaborated with Das Racist.
