Starfield's brimming with conversations with NPCs through its dialogue camera, videos about sex and they're real...close. But a new mod gives you a little more space.
Spotted by PC Gamer, there's now a way to switch off the Bethesda game's first-person dialogue camera, thanks to a mod from user AntoniX, available on Nexus Mods.
If you don't want to stare directly into the souls of your fellow Constellation members, Freestar Rangers, and various snooty New Atlantis residents, the mod disables the dialogue camera and forces a third person view. For scenes with multiple people, it's less intense than the montage of first person eye contact. You can also continue to move throughout the conversation, if you enjoy wandering about while someone is getting to know you.
Here's what it looks like in action:
The mod is available for PC users through Steam and Xbox PC Game Pass, and the full instructions for installation are on Nexus Mods. You'll just need the Address Library for SFSE Plugins and Starfield Script Extender to install it.
As PC Gamer pointed out, the mod is compatible with other mods including the Enhanced Dialogue Interface, a mod created by Seb263 which centres the NPC and adds a drop shadow to captions for readability.
